Welcome to XTRA

XTRA is a database of extra-curricular activities. It will help you to find activities which may help to develop your skills and competencies, enhancing your employability.

The activities are listed by ‘activity type’ categories (courses, department, paid or unpaid work experience, personal interests, professional development, students’ union, volunteering, workshops) to help you search the wide variety of activities that are included in the award. You can also list the activities by the number of points available and by ‘group’. For the Employability Award you are required to include activities from two of the three groups: Group A: voluntary activities (including unpaid work experience), Group B: paid work experience and Group C: other extra-curricular activities (courses, workshops, language courses).

You can also search by ‘keyword’. For a full explanation of the terms used in this database and for help on how to use the search options, please click on ‘How to Use the Database’.

There is an option on the ‘list of records’ page to email this list to yourself, but please note that new activities are sometimes added to the online list.
